Useful Linux Commands

Show all cron jobs: sudo crontab -l

Schedule cron job:

#Example of job definition:
# .---------------- minute (0 - 59)
# |  .------------- hour (0 - 23)
# |  |  .---------- day of month (1 - 31)
# |  |  |  .------- month (1 - 12) OR jan,feb,mar,apr ...
# |  |  |  |  .---- day of week (0 - 6) (Sunday=0 or 7) OR sun,mon,tue,wed,thu,fri,sat
# |  |  |  |  |
# *  *  *  *  * user-name  command to be executed

Another Example: 5 * * * * cd /user/example && sudo some command >> /dev/null 2>&1 This will run every 5 minutes

Edit crontab crontab -e

Remove crontab jobs sudo crontab -u yourname -e

Show environment variable value: printenv HOME HOME can be substituted for the variable name

Find a file in subdirectories
